Default Ultimate Ranger Interrupting Build Help

GWEN is quite a painful game to play through. I'm having problems facing huge groups of elementals or groups full of atleast two-three healers in them.

I've been taking a ranger, Pyre, with me.

This is what I run on him.

Broad Head Arrow
Savage Shot
Distracting Shot
Troll Unguent
Rez
Natural Ritual (Winter, Frozen Soil, etc.)
Blank spot
Blank spot

Obviously it doesn't shutdown multiple casters at once. So I looked to Choking Gas and Practiced Stance. Both seem okay, but they never seem to hold out long enough during battles. They seemed to need to be reapplied frequently and that was fastly burned through my heroes energy.

So now I'm looking at Fevered Dreams. I haven't got the skill yet, so I want to know if its worth bothering capping. Do heroes use it correctly or am I going to have to micro-manage them?

*sigh* If Fevered Dreams doesnt work out right I can only assume I'd have to take multiple interrupters with me. Unfortunately, that's just not possible in places like Duncan's dungeon where it seems you really should stick to a specific group build to get things done. (at the very least, i could make myself (mez) an interrupter as well. I still don't think it will suffice though.)

Anyway, anyone have any suggestions for an uber interrupting hero build?

Remember your caster heroes tend to need energy, and they make awesome interrupters. Throwing a Leech Signet and / or Power Drain on a couple of 'em with some spare points into Inspiration can help to serve two purposes.

Actually, your ranger interupter build is good enough. What I am using is some what similar. This is my build :

Broad Head Arrow
Choking Gas
Savage Shot
Distracting Shot
Troll Unguent
Power Drain
Leech Signet
Rez Sig

I can't remember what is the attributes I used but effectively, the ranger hero is good enough to shut a single caster & to a certain extend, a group of caster. Since AI has insane reflexes, Power Drain & Leech Signet is godly in their hands. :P

I've been using this combo over bha lately

[skill]prepared shot[/skill][skill]concussion shot[/skill]
prep of choice (I like Rapid Fire pairs well with daze)

plus the other normal interrupts; savage, distracting

the daze is far more spammable with just a 5 sec recharge

You do need a respectable expertise to counteract the 25 energy of concussion(I run 13)

On a pure interupter I would go with [card]Read The Wind[/card] or at least stick [card]Favorable Winds[/card] in there.

Hero doesnt know how to use BHA properly. He will just fire from distance and often miss a moving foe. Also they dont see if an enemy is around the corner and will just shoot the wall/stone/tree, whatever. From my experience Mesmers are better heroes when it comes to shutting down enemies.

quick reply in here as well
my 2 rangers dont seem to want to use [Magebane Shot] either even tho i have dist and savage on the bar as well.....

i have seen them use it, just not spamming it like they should be. they seem to favor the damaging savage shot over it.
when disabled 2 out of 3, the DO use it, but they must not be aware of the recharge time or something...

except with the current ranger AI, they use magebane like a regular attack, and rarely (i hesitate to flat-out say NEVER, but that wouldn't be too far out from the truth) used in its proper context.

tried giving Jin Magebane Shot in unwaking waters; thought it would be a good idea since it recharges even if it fails to interrupt Kuunavang's spells...NOT

BHA/savage/distract is still my preferred combo. daze one caster, use your own weapon to suppress it and lock the ranger on another caster target.

Same as Magebane shot, they just use it like a regular attack instead of trying to interrupt skills with it.

i usually run 2 eles 1 mm bomber everywhere including hard mode and it works great

the 2 eles have either extinguish or Ward against melee they are Mind Blast searing flames or aoe if they are aoe i bring leech sig and power drain

minion bomber brings degen and explosions

i've been working on a new team build so i made one with 3 necros SS barbs/mark of pain an OoU and a Jagged Bones tons of damage and works just as good and quick as the eles i've found and i tested it by vanquishing Arjok Ward (:

I would look into a mesmer, plus the interrupt henchmen in gwen has BHA already take him over a hero and fill the hero slot with something better. I use that BHA ranger in every part of gwen, if i see that slow arc arrow hit a target im wanding that sob to death.

Or take the BHA ranger (henchmen) and take a Mesmer with fevered dreams or epidemic?

BHA doesn't really work most efficiently on heroes, they seem to enjoy dazing minions and Warriors and whatever the heck is out there that doesn't use any spells.

[skill]Read the Wind[/skill][skill]Prepared Shot[/skill][skill]Concussion Shot[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill] is your best bet for a Ranger interrupting hero.
[skill]Expert's Dexterity[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill] also works decently.

Although IMO take an N/Me with [skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill][skill]Psychic Distraction[/skill] 15 soul reaping and 12 domination magic

Yeah i used to put 8 or so points into inspiration and use mantra of inscriptions, leech signet, power drain, helps with energy and is nice to have the extra interrupts. Works quite well especially over 3 heroes.

Oooopse forgot, works well on mm's with SOLS because of mantra of inscriptions.
